Random Sunday Thoughts

So I have had a life-long goal to have a catch phrase or quote that could be used at my funeral that people would hmmm over. So the quote I have come up with and had planned to needle-point on some cute pillows was, "You will never regret being kind" While I feel this is true, comments and feedback are appreciated, today in Relief Society I realized that my quote is much too little and much too late. Someone has beat me to this quote and made it encompass so much more. Charity never faileth. I have been thinking a lot lately about what I can do for others this season, and had an epiphany today. Thanks for reading my random thoughts!

PICK A GOOD ONE!

According to Godfrey/Webb tradition (or lore if you will), the day after Thanksgiving is for driving to The Great Salt Lake and picking out the perfect Christmas Tree. So Jane and I packed up the car and headed out on our adventure. No, it did not involve bringing an axe and braving the snow, just finding the keys to the Saturn, one small accident (jane's still working on it ok?) and lots of twine to hold the gigantic tree to our mini car. Here's some pics of Jane and her wonderful cousins, aunt, grandma and great grandma webb.
Another family tradition is decorating gingerbread houses at grandma Marci's home, I think Grandma did most of the decorating here.
Thanksgiving

When I tell anyone about our Thanksgiving this year I get one of three reactions...1. SHOCK, the whole open mouth, wide-eyed gasp. This reaction is usually from the really home-makie types who are good cooks. 2. Pity, this actually can follow #1, but the whole, Ohhhhh, you shoulda come over to our house for Thanksgiving. 3. LAUGHTER, and maybe a little envy. My parents are in Belarus and it is the year to celebrate Thanksgiving at their house. I did not want to prepare a full-course dinner for just our wee family. I know that is a weak excuse, but it worked! And look how happy it made my husband when he found out that I wouldn't have to slave over the stove and wash dishes all day! Refer to top AND bottom picture.

My cute family in Chuckarama (note the fake smile on Wes' face, can you see him thinking, "I would NOT choose to eat here anyway let alone Thanksgiving day.")
p.s. I got a three hour nap, anyone jealous?
